In the Spring of 2009, McKenzie excitedly opened her own one-room private studio, Genmai Massage Therapy, in the lovely village of Voorheesville, New York.
When she was a student of Massage Therapy in 2007, she and her sister came up with the name after enjoying a lovely cup of genmaicha tea and dreaming of what could be of the future. By naming her business 'Genmai Massage Therapy,' it helps to to remind her to remain humble, like a simple cup filled with her favorite tea. For her, the business name conjures up calm feelings of warm fingers wrapped around a favorite mug, producing one of her favorite feelings: comfort.
She hopes Genmai Massage Therapy will be synonymous with comfort and when your body needs therapeutic support, you'll know that you can experience balanced comfort in your own body with a therapeutic massage from either McKenzie Lee Burleigh, LMT or her husband, Jason Scott Burleigh, LMT.
Meaning of Genmaicha via Tealet Tea: Genmaicha is one of Japan's most well-known green tea outside sencha. Translated to Brown Rice Tea it is literally green tea, Yanagi Bancha, with 100% Japanese-grown sweet mocha rice. The roasted brown rice will remind you of the rich and sweet flavor of popcorn. This brings a nuttiness to the sweet and bitter of the sencha. This is a great introduction to the diverse world of Japanese green tea. The sweetness and warmth of Genmaicha is best shared with loved ones on a chilly day. All palates can find something to love in this nutty tea.
Instructions how to brew the perfect cup of Genmaicha Tea
