Genmai Massage Therapy has been owned and operated by McKenzie Lee Burleigh, LMT (Licensed Massage Therapist) since 2009 along with her husband, Jason Scott Burleigh, LMT, who joined the studio in 2018, located in the beautiful village of Voorheesville, New York.
Genmai Massage Therapy provides a lovely private studio where their clients can truly begin to unwind and rejuvenate. Their clients can be sure of total relaxation on freshly laundered sheets over a heavily padded and heated massage table. And taking into consideration the mobility of all clients, whether dealing with a short-term movement difficulty, or long-term physical limitations, the studio makes use of a hydraulic massage table. The hydraulic massage table slowly lowers and raises providing a safe and easy way to get on and off the table. Also, with the ability to adjust table height with the push of a button also makes it easier for your Massage Therapist to be able to provide a few different modalities that would be otherwise inaccessible using a stationary table.
For the sensory comfort of our clients who suffer from headaches or migraines, a hypoallergenic, paraben-free lotion is used during the massage and neither McKenzie nor Jason wear perfume or cologne so as not to disturb our clients who have sensitivity to smells. They encourage their clients to refrain from wearing anything either, as smells can bother the client arriving after the session. *Please note: A lightly scented 'Genmaicha' or green tea hand and foot lotion is used, please let your Massage Therapist know if you do not desire this during your session.
McKenzie and Jason choose not to sell any additional services in our business, and in doing so you can rest assured that you will never be pressured for additional treatments or costs during or after your massage session. They pride themselves on simply providing Excellent Bodywork with Extraordinary Results!
In early 2023, they will be offering a take home Genmaicha (Japanese 玄米茶, “roasted rice tea”) gift of tea to enjoy at home, ask your therapist if there are any available at your next appointment, free of charge to our clients.
Genmai Massage Therapy was named after this lovely tea, a green tea mixed with roasted brown rice. Sometimes the rice “pops” when it is being roasted, many people refer to it as the “people’s or popcorn tea”, and the rice serves to make the drink a bit more filling. Today, genmaicha is a very popular drink all over the world, consumed by all types of tea drinkers. Be sure to pick up your free tea packet at your next massage session, available on the table next to the chair.
We wish you all a relaxed and hydrated day!
